Wellgistics XRP Integration Cuts Payment Barriers

Wellgistics XRP integration marks a bold step by the Florida-based pharmaceutical distributor to adopt Ripple’s XRP both for payments and treasury strategy. The company, one of the first public U.S. firms to implement XRP on this scale, aims to streamline supplier transactions and lower cross-border costs with blockchain efficiency.

Faster payments and global settlement with XRP

According to a press release, Wellgistics intends to replace slow and expensive bank transfers with blockchain-powered transactions using XRP. Traditional methods often take up to three days and cost between $10 and $30, while also being subject to geographic and transparency limitations. By contrast, XRP enables cross-border payments in 3–5 seconds with transaction fees of less than one cent.

The company stated that integrating XRP aligns with its mission to build efficient healthcare systems, free of outdated intermediaries. CEO Brian Norton emphasized that the future of healthcare will favor companies offering real-time payments, clean data, and streamlined platforms rather than legacy infrastructure.

$50M credit line for XRP adoption and balance sheet use

To support this initiative, Wellgistics secured a $50 million credit line to finance its XRP integration, both for processing payments and holding XRP as a treasury asset. This positions the company as one of the few publicly listed firms actively accumulating XRP, diverging from the industry trend of Bitcoin dominance in corporate treasuries.

Wellgistics XRP integration comes as institutional interest in XRP surges. In April, Coinbase launched XRP futures contracts, and traders are anticipating regulatory approval for a spot ETF based on the token. Currently, XRP ranks fourth in global crypto market capitalization at $139.3 billion.

Ripple gains momentum in the corporate world

While most companies investing in digital assets have focused on Bitcoin—such as Michael Saylor’s Strategy and Japan’s Metaplanet—Wellgistics XRP integration reflects a shift toward Ripple-based infrastructure. This reinforces growing market confidence in XRP’s use cases beyond retail trading, especially as blockchain gains traction in healthcare, logistics, and financial services.

As XRP trades at $2.40, up 8.3% in 24 hours and 15% year-to-date, Wellgistics’ move could further drive institutional adoption. Combined with expectations for ETF approval and expanding use cases, XRP appears positioned for long-term growth.
