Trump Initiates Probe into Alleged Cognitive Decline During Biden’s Presidency

On June 4, 2025, President Donald Trump ordered a federal investigation into former President Joe Biden’s cognitive health during his tenure. The probe aims to determine whether Biden’s aides concealed his mental decline and unconstitutionally used an autopen to sign official documents without his knowledge.

Trump appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi and White House Counsel David Warrington to lead the investigation. The inquiry will examine whether Biden’s aides misled the public and exercised presidential authority in his name, potentially invalidating numerous executive actions, including pardons and policy shifts.

The investigation follows the release of the book “Original Sin,” which outlines Biden’s cognitive issues since 2015. Trump alleges that Biden’s staff deliberately misled the public and violated the Constitution by usurping presidential authority.

Biden responded to the allegations, calling them “ridiculous and false,” and affirmed that he made all presidential decisions himself.
