Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has addressed concerns regarding the potential diversion of the company’s advanced AI chips to China, stating that there is no evidence supporting such claims. Speaking during a visit to Taipei, Huang emphasized the complexity and scale of Nvidia’s hardware, making discreet rerouting impractical.
In response to U.S. export restrictions, Nvidia plans to launch a downgraded version of its H20 chip to maintain its presence in China’s market, where it faces growing competition from domestic companies like Huawei.
To further solidify its commitment to the Chinese market, Nvidia is establishing a new research and development center in Shanghai. This initiative aims to better understand and respond to Chinese customer needs while ensuring compliance with U.S. regulations.
